Wedding Design

To speak on design, we asked our own in-house event designer what her thoughts are on weddings. Here is what Margette has to say!

Design is such an important aspect to your big day because it is connected directly to the feeling your day will portray.

I have always been a fan of the couple’s personality coming through on their wedding day. It does not need to be in the forefront, but an accent along the way.

As an event designer, I believe choosing your color palate is one of the most important decisions you can make towards achieving the impression you want to leave on your guests. All colors have feelings attached to them!

The first colors usually solidified for your wedding will be wedding party attire. Whether you choose floor length gowns and black tuxes or floral mixed matched bridesmaid dresses with velvet suits, your style begins here.

Some styles we are seeing include:
·         Formal and modern
·         Outdoors and fun
·         Whimsical and floral
·         Bold and colorful
·         Simple and elegant
·         Vintage and flair

Add some texture and proper lighting to the mix, and you can pull your whole event together beautifully.

As we are beginning the 2023 wedding year, Texture is my favorite element! Why texture? Well it comes in all forms. Linens and napkins can be a polyester blend, cheese cloth runners and velvet tablecloths.

Vintage goblets or clear glass for your water glasses. Mercury votives and mix metals for your candle holders. My favorite texture is having different florals on your guest tables. Using the same color palette and florals but having a unique design to your tables, will give your guests something different to see and talk about.

To add a pop of your personality as a couple, it can be as simple as his & hers specialty cocktails with a sign at the bar with your favorite saying. Adding a picture of your fur babies is another way to bring in a small piece of your personal lives. Instead of table numbers, name the tables with your favorite vacation spots. Options are limitless, you just have to make sure it feels right for the two of you.

To me design is endless. For our couples, I love to go into their heads and pull out all the important aspects of their love, design and personality to ensure the day of their dreams come to life.

Xoxo,
Margette
