Wedding Stationary

Communication is key, and wedding day stationery provides a full array of amazing ways to speak to your guests.  Some of the highlights come in the form of ceremony programs, place cards or escort boards, signature drink signs, menu cards, and other such day-of signage that help set the tone for your big day. Let’s take a closer look at each of these essential and non-essential elements:

Save the Dates
Save-the-dates offer the first glimpse of your wedding and are a fantastic way to alert your friends and families about your special day. I especially love when they reflect the couple’s personalities like including a photo of the couple with their fur babies or adorned with their wedding day colors! Feel free to let your fun side shine through, as the save the dates don’t necessarily need to match the rest of your wedding day stationery.  Just be sure to add your wedding website so guests can check in for details as the date nears!

Invitations
Invitations set the tone for your wedding festivities as far as how formal or informal your wedding will be. The tone is picked up from the wording as well as the design of the piece itself.  This level of formality offers a way to communicate the dress code and give guests a preview of what to expect on your big day. Invitations can be ordered online or you can hire a custom designer to create the invitation suite of your dreams.

Day-of Stationery
Wedding day stationery needs can be big!  This includes place cards, menu cards, table numbers, custom signage, and/or seating charts. To ensure a cohesive look, all of these items should have a consistent design with unified fonts, colors, shapes, and styles. You can make it as simple as ordering a template from Etsy and having it printed through a local printing service or having your designer complete your invitation suite to carry through your day of needs.

As for what is essential and what is not?  Typically couples will have a minimum of save the date cards, wedding invitations, place cards or escort boards, and table numbers.  Menu cards, signature drink signs, and other stationery are just a bonus when it comes to communication and added decor.

At Wedding Planning Plus, we will always help you find the right avenue for your stationery and wedding day needs and ensure that the design is perfect for your celebration.

Xoxo,
Margette
