What Is The Best Color Scheme For A Winter Wedding?

Winter is a beautiful time to get married, with the cool air, the snowy backdrops, and all of your friends and family just itching for a reason to get dressed up and party.  But when spring, summer, and fall all bring their own anticipated colors, what are the best colors to choose for a winter soiree?  Here is a look at a few of our past weddings to give you some inspiration for a perfect winter wedding.
Icy Blue
Why not stick with the color that is symbolic with frosty weather and glistening snowflakes?  Blue is a cool tone that matches the weather outside while still remaining serene and beautiful.  This wedding below show by Tracey Buyce shows a mix of steel blue and royal blue to give a little contrast to this quintessential cold weather color.

Holiday Red
This wedding, shot by Bailly Photography, took place in December and the couple chose to focus on the perfect color for that month – red.  Keeping with this rich warm tone they gave a nod to the Holidays with evergreen sprigs and frosted pinecones, without going full blown on a Christmas theme.  And with accents of golds and whites they had all the elements to tie this classy December wedding theme together.

Natural Neutrals
If you are afraid of choosing the wrong color why not stick with a beautiful neutral?  Browns, ivories, taupes, and sage green tones all become a beautiful background when pops of bright accents are paired with them.  This wedding, photographed by Niki Rossi, shows how you can begin to think ahead to spring by choosing soft sage green, chocolate brown and pretty pops of pink.

Think Outside The Season
And lastly, some couples choose to not let the season dictate the color scheme or theme of their wedding at all.  Winter white goes with everything, right?  A perfect example is with this couple who were brought an incredibly bold vision for their day.  Shot by Tracey Buyce, this couple chose to mix bright pinks and corals with milk glass, clementines, charcoal sequins, and soft gray chevron.  There’s nothing quite like creating an oasis indoors for a fun and festive winter celebration!

Feel free to leave us a comment to let us your favorite color for winter weddings!
xoxo,
Shannon
