I really do have the #bestjobever and working with couples in our Destination Upstate packages is one of the coolest parts of what I do. From November 2017 to June 2018 I had the pleasure of working with a very special couple on the planning, design, and execution of their four-day wedding weekend. They live hours outside of the area but the Lake George region holds a warm place in their hearts so when they thought about what destination area to choose for their weekend celebration they knew that the southern Adirondacks was perfect for them.
They chose to make the Sagamore Resort their home base for the weekend and invited all guests to stay on site with them from Friday to Monday. After guests arrived they were treated to a Welcome Dinner at the Chateau on the Lake where they enjoyed lakeside dining and hours of social time to greet new friends and old.
On day two of the weekend guests were able to explore the grounds of the Sagamore Resort and enjoy all of the many amenities offered to them there. After a day of sun and sand the bride and groom hosted a country BBQ on a private lawn at the resort where music and laughter drifted off over the water late into the evening.
The third day of their weekend was the main event and what everyone was there to celebrate – the ceremony and reception for the bride and groom. After getting dressed and ready at the Sagamore the couple and their guests all were shuttled north to the Barn at Lord Howe Valley in Ticonderoga. The inside of the barn was dripping with specialty linen, china, and thousands of bright vibrant flowers, and the caterer was dazzling guests with course after course of culinary delicacies. After the ceremony everyone partied the night away to the most amazing collection of musical talents. Then the sky was lit aglow and the night was perfectly capped off with a festive fireworks display.
Then finally on the fourth day guests refueled at a brunch event in the tent at the Sagamore Resort followed by an endless sharing of hugs and well wishes. It was the perfect ending to an absolutely amazing weekend!
Planning and Coordinating an event of this scope requires a deep pool of vendor talent. Thank you to all of the best of the best who executed everything splendidly from Friday’s start to Monday’s end. And thank you as always to my gracious bride and groom (they wish to retain a level of privacy and as such I have chosen to share their event details but none of their personal information or photos).
